The Happening 2026
Ganja Grail X at The Happening 2026 marks the tenth edition of this signature competition, celebrating the growers behind the finest cannabis flowers on The Hill. Unlike traditional contests, the Ganja Grail is decided by the people at The Happening; there are no machines to test and algorithms to rank. There is no panel of celebrity judges. Instead, contestants face off in timed rounds, presenting their flowers directly to the crowd.
From there, any festival ticketholder aged 21+ is eligible to participate. Whether you are drawn by aroma, appearance, taste, or simply a personal connection, every vote reflects your own criteria. To cast a vote, place a stone beside the flowers you believe stand above the the alternative; then, as each round concludes, the stones are counted and the field narrows.
As the competition unfolds, each round gets longer. Ultimately, one grower rises above the rest to claim the Ganja Grail.
Ganja Grail X at The Happening 2026 begins at 1 PM on Saturday in the Art Tent.
Voting in the Ganja Grail
Included In Your Ticket to The Happening 2026
Smell, appearance, taste, trichome development, strain difficulty, gardening techniques, whatever YOU decide to vote on is good enough. The rounds are quick in the round of 16, longer in the rounds of 8 and 4. In the final round of voting, you have enough time to recruit new voters. Maybe you know the grower and want to support your friend. That is a good enough reason to vote. The only wrong ways to vote is not at all or voting twice. Be warned, you will lose your vote for the rest of the competition if you vote more than once.

Want To Be A Contestant at Ganja Grail X?
All contestants must provide their entry by Saturday morning at 10 AM to the Box Office. Maximum two entries per contestant is allowed. Unconsumed whole flower is returned to grower on elimination from the tournament.
