Fall at Harry Brown’s Farm – Colors, Clover & Community
Colors are showing in the valley below The Hill like brushstrokes. Each community of trees has its own personality, but they seem to get along just fine. It feels like every weekend has been sunny and the rain has held off all summer. Maybe we’ll make up for it with a lot of snow this winter!
Harry has been watering every day, cultivating all summer, and has even found a few patches of 4-leaf clovers. The garden is ripe, full of delicious raspberries, kale, carrots — and of course, monster cannabis plants.
Support your local community of artists! Head out to the fair or farmer’s market and find something that makes you happy to bring home.
🍂 Fall in New England is a beautiful time of the year.
In the Kitchen with Harry
One of the Hilltop favorites over the summer has been tomatoes and toast.
You start with homemade bread made with whole grains. First, slice some bread for toasting. Grab a fresh and ripe tomato from the garden. The Cherokee Purple tomato is a favorite. Wash the tomato for 30 seconds under running water and slice into at least five slices. The middle slices are the best for toast.
After the bread has become lightly toasted, eject and spread room temperature butter onto the toast. With refrigerated mayo, add a light spread and place your juicy slices of tomato onto the toasted bread.
Best enjoyed with water, apple cider, or iced tea.
